Hey, kids. Some of you may know me from my time at BlackBerry Cool, but in case you don't I'll take the time to introduce myself. My name is Douglas Soltys, and I'm the new Editor-in-Chief of Inside BlackBerry. I've been writing about BlackBerry® smartphones in one way or another since 2004; my first BlackBerry smartphone was the BlackBerry 7100r, but I have spent time using older models like the BlackBerry 7290 and even the RIM 950; my favorite BlackBerry smartphone is the BlackBerry® Bold™; I know my PIN by heart; I can text faster than you.

As EIC, it'll be my job to make sure that all the content on Inside BlackBerry is in tip-top shape, providing an authoritative perspective never before seen from a BlackBerry blog. To do that, I'll be relying heavily upon the knowledge and experience of my friends here at RIM, but also upon you, the reader. The BlackBerry community is vibrant and growing, and it is the goal of Inside BlackBerry to serve you as best we can. If you have the time, drop me an email and say hi. Being a product manager means a fair amount of travel, and everything that comes with it - lots of time spent in planes and taxis.  I've always relied on music to get me through a trip.

I used to have to carry a couple of devices while traveling - my cell phone and then an mp3 player to play my tunes. Now I just carry one device - my BlackBerry® smartphone - which allows me to listen to my music and carry out my work-related tasks.  Using BlackBerry® Media Sync made my life a lot easier too, because it makes it extremely simple to transfer your music onto the smartphone.
