I did a clean restore just BB told me. One back up with apps and one without. Both times trackpad worked like new again! For about 30min?! Nothing or nobody seems to have a solution. Eligable for an upgrade but the only option is a “downgrade”. That is because At&t discontined the 9700 w/out offering 9780 (which is an insult to customers seeing that memory, camera and blackberry 6 was added to 9700)leaving me the option of Torch or Curve. Might as well off attached a cord to both to keep ‘em powered up. My only upgrade would be to choose iPhone 4? What’s up BB? Let’s make a consumer happy today.

If you are still having issues with your trackpad, back up your BlackBerry data and do what is called a clean software reload as shown in http://bbry.lv/cG8oer and test before restoring data.

I have been reading all the comments about the trackpad issues and i thinks the solutions that you give to evryone is to reload the software, i think you don’t know what to sat but reload the software, this is not a software issue, I have the same problem and i did load the software and it did not help.
Most of the people are expecting an answer from RIM because even if we go to the service provider, they won’t fix the problem and will tell you to buy a new phone, so PLease do not reply with this “reload software” because is not working.
I hope we can get a better answer and better support from RIM.
