CES 2010: Xobni Hands On Demo

Mobile Apps

As a BlackBerry® smartphone user, I naturally take email very seriously. That’s why I’m a huge fan of Xobni (it’s inbox spelled backwards), a Microsoft Outlook plug-in that enhances your email experience in a variety of different ways. I was extremely exticed to meet with the Xobni team at the BlackBerry booth during my stay at CES and learn about their forthcoming application for BlackBerry smartphones. If you take your email as seriously as I do, I sincerely recommend you watch the video above to learn more.

The Xobni application for BlackBerry smartphones is currently in beta. If you’d like to sign up for the limited beta, simply head to: http://www.xobni.com/learnmore/mobile/

This is an awesome desktop app. Works wonders with Outlook. I can't wait to work it on my Tour…

I agree I tested out the application and loved it! I am still a power user and I hate things that load up with Outlook I want speed speed speed and it just slowed things down to me.

Hey Caspan – this is matt, co-founder of Xobni. Glad you enjoyed the features of xobni. In case you aren't aware, you can actually control when Xobni loads – so it doesn't load immediately when outlook starts, and only starts after you first click the sidebar. People that experience loading delays run Xobni like this, and are very happy. You can access this feature in Xoibni menu->options->general

Question with the new version how does it index incoming mail and everything else if it does not load by default? Does it wait until you use it once to start indexing emails and contacts? It must run in the background no? I might have to play around with it again to see this feature.

Hey Caspan – If you have xobni operating in manual startup mode, it won't start indexing new mail until you've renabled it. And we are smart about when we index – we wait until you have idle cycles on your computer before we index. Or you can manually click the indexing button at the base of Xobni to force the index. We are serious about performance
