Hi there – and thanks for continuing to answer me! I read somewhere that the facebook app with look at my BBerry contacts and search FB for email addresses the same, and send them messages on my behalf.. You're sure that won't happen? Thanks again for putting up with me! I really want the FB app on my phone, but I'm nervous about it. I have gotten friend requests from people on FB and they said they didn't “initiate” them – I think that happens if you allow FB access to your email contacts – like on your pc.. but then how do I prevent that on the Blackberry. On my computer, my email password is not the same as my FB password – but on my BBerry – I don't have a password protecting my address book – does this make sense? Hi,

That is correct once you sign in it will take your through the set up wizard. Make sure not to select the options you do not like to have.

Thank you – I just want to make sure you're sure.. I have read that it will look at my blackberry contacts, and if it finds those emails out on facebook it will write to them like I was asking them to be my friend or something… Also, there's that Blackberry Contacts App – do I get a chance to turn that off before it does anything? I downloaded the app, but the first thing it wants is for me to sign on to my Facebook account, so I'm nervous that the other settings are defautled and I won't be able to turn that off before it “does” something. Also – do you know the latest or correct “version” of the FB app that I should get? Thanks a lot.. I just don't want all these “friend” requests send “from” me that I didn't want to send – does this make sense? Thanks very, very much. Maggie

Hello,

The Facebook for BlackBerry smartphone application does not send any messages unless you send a message your self. You do require to have the same email address integrated on your BlackBerry smartphone in order to receive Facebook notifications and be able to use it to reply.

I want to put the facebook app on my blackberry but I do NOT want FB to send out ANY messages to ANYONE in my contacts. Is this possible? My blackberry is connect to my work, and I do not want Facebook to be sending messages to people unless I specifically choose to. Any advice would be much appreciated.. Thank you. Maggie
