Recently, we asked you to provide us with your feedback regarding Facebook® for BlackBerry® smartphones 1.9.0.20, as we were investigating reports of missed notifications and difficulty logging into the Facebook application on your BlackBerry® smartphone. Thanks to your valuable feedback, our development team was able to determine the root cause for some of the issues being experienced.

You’ll be pleased to know that we’ve made improvements to the reliability of push notifications. We’ve also addressed some other issues that were raised, such as the photo uploading issue that was causing some devices to freeze, as well as periodic issues with the notifications and background polling settings. Please note that we are continuing to investigate the login issue being experienced by some users with Facebook.

Today, I’d like to go over the issues addressed above, as well as steps on how to upgrade to Facebook for BlackBerry smartphones v1.9.0.28.

    I have a question on this post….Does there any Hotfix to use facebook on wifi module? Answer is NO…because there is monopoly to give access facebook without any plan from THERE service providers

      Hi Joshilham,

      If you are still having this issue after installing the hotfix, try uninstalling Facebook for BlackBerry and reinstalling it then testing again.

    When will “Places” be fixed? You can’t check-in to places where you are but theres an icon for it. This doesn’t make sense. Will it ever work?

    Here is something that I noticed. When I say that I am attending an event on facebook it doesn’t put it onto my phone in my blackberry even though I have a Facebook Calandar on my black berry. IS that by design or a bug

    I have tried to upgrade to v1.9.0.28 on Curve 8520 but says “Sorry – The requested itm cannot be loaded” ?? Is it compatible with all Blackberry OS or just OS6?

    These issues have not been problems for me. My biggest beef is that we cannot delete messages off of our BlackBerry without ALSO deleting the messages from Facebook itself!! This is INCREDIBLY aggravating. I have many messages on Facebook that I wish to KEEP, but I do NOT want them in the Inbox of my BlackBerry. Please resolve this issue.
