BBM Enters the Collins English Dictionary


Hey #TeamBlackBerry, in case you haven’t heard – BlackBerry ® Messenger (BBM ™) hit a new milestone. It officially entered modern-day vocab with the announcement that BBM is to be included in the latest edition of the Collins English Dictionary! We’ve created a short video to celebrate:

The inclusion reflects the extraordinary global popularity of BBM. From its humble origins as a business messaging tool, BBM now has over 56 million users worldwide, with 70% of #TeamBlackBerry using it on a daily basis to communicate with friends, family and colleagues.

The addition of BBM to the Collins English dictionary recognizes its status as one of the world’s most popular mobile social networks. In recent years, the term ‘BBM’ has transcended its technological origins to become a part of the everyday language of millions. It’s an honor that a word used by millions of our customers has now been officially welcomed into the English language.
