BBM for Android Now Available on Amazon Appstore

BBM / 02.19.15 / Matthew Talbot

All you Android BBMers out there: the latest BBM for Android is now available on the Amazon Appstore. The Amazon Appstore is both a website and accompanying app that connects Android users to all the great movies, games, and apps on Amazon.

As part of the monetization plan for BBM, we’re growing our user base with a cross-platform strategy, expanding BBM beyond the BlackBerry operating system and bringing Android, iOS, and Windows Phone users into (and back to) the fold.

Now Android users can get their BBM updates through Google Play or the Amazon Appstore.

If you haven’t updated recently, do it now to take advantage of all the new features, apps, stickers, games, music, and other services.

More Privacy and Control
The latest version of BBM has two great new features that give you more privacy options and more control over what you send from your phone.

The first feature is Timed Messages. Now, whenever you send a photo or a text message, you can decide how long you want your contacts to be able to see it by setting a timer within BBM. It gives you that extra level of privacy.

Message Retraction is the second new privacy feature. It lets you take back something you accidentally sent to the wrong person—or just decided not to send. Once you retract a message, the recipient only sees a “message retracted” note.

More to Love in the BBM Shop
The latest BBM Shop is chock-full of lots of entertainment and utility options that make your BBM more useful and fun than ever. Android users will find dozens of sticker packs, plus apps like BeWeather Pro, Instagram client iGrann, games like Candy Crush Soda Saga, and lots of options for music streaming depending on where you are in the world.

Plus, the BBM Shop offers BlackBerry-esque keyboard apps (like Zimpl) to save you Android users from your keyboards.

The BBM Shop also lets you transfer airtime using just phone numbers and your credit card.

We just keep making BBM better. We’re bringing it to more people and packing it with great features, virtual goods, and services to make it your go-to app for everything you do on your mobile.
