What are the 20 Most Popular Amazon Appstore Android apps for BlackBerry Users?

Apps & Games

(This is a guest blog by Brooke Gibson, App Ecosystem Consumer Marketing Lead at BlackBerry)

When one thinks of a typical BlackBerry user, a Type-A, hyper-focused, successful go-getter is what likely comes to mind. You know the ones I am talking about: the financial analysts that are up at the crack of dawn, or the tech entrepreneurs working late into the night on their startups. They work extremely hard and require a device that can not only keep up, but work as hard as they do. What may surprise you, though, is how many of these users play equally as hard.

Last fall, BlackBerry proudly partnered with Amazon to bring the Amazon Appstore first to BlackBerry Passport users, and more recently, to all BlackBerry 10 users. Within the Amazon Appstore, users can discover and download popular Android apps and games including Candy Crush Saga, Pinterest, SoundCloud, Kindle and Amazon Shopping – just to name a few.

The goal is to bring a wider variety of applications to BlackBerry users, expanding on the many productivity and business-oriented apps in BlackBerry World (and don’t forget BlackBerry 10 users can make Web apps look and run like native apps, too). The results have been amazing. Here’s the top 20 list of most globally downloaded applications by BlackBerry users from the Amazon Appstore. Let’s just say, there are only a few business applications to be found on this list:

  1. Candy Crush Saga (see right)1x1_PD_Amazon_Appstore_ENG

(Note: our BBM messaging app is available for Android through the Amazon Store and also Google Play. It crossed 100 million installs in March after just one year of availability.)

From music streaming to popular games to dating applications, the Amazon Appstore has hundreds of thousands of consumer and business apps to choose from, and BlackBerry fans have made their application preferences clear via their download habits.

So, what’s your favorite application from the Amazon Appstore? Did it make the top 20 list?

P.S. Amazon also features a free premium app every day! So if you’ve been missing out, make sure you check out the store daily to take advantage of their great free offers.
