I've been running the Desktop Manager just fine when just recently I started receiving the following error message when I first start the Desktop Manage, "The Application Loader Wizard requires the Blackberry Device Manager to be installed. Please contact customer support." The Device Manager is already running when I get this message.I've tried to repair the software as well as I uninstalled and reinstalled both version 5.0.1 and version 4.3.0.17 (original that came with my phone) with the same result.Version 4.3.0.17 does allow me to sync my data, but I can't load any applications. Version 5.0.1 locks up after the error message above while it it says it's trying update the software.I'm running Windows 7, 64 bit. Like I said, it just became an issue this past week after working fine before that. I also tried a "Clean Uninstall" by following the steps in Doc ID: KB02206.

I am not a savvy computer person, nor I do Texting,(I find it stupid and dangerous) However I make a living using a computer, my company issued laptop goes with me everywhere. I work for a company that supplies services to the power industry, and I travel to many isolated areas in the USA, however I always have wireless service. I am wondering If I use a blackberry to connect my laptop to the internet? And how fast it would be (assuming I can do it)

I would appreciate a long answer.

Regards

Walter Ponce
