Five Tip Friday for PRIV and BlackBerry 10 – Inspired by You, Our Followers!

06.17.16 / ecjamieson

Recently, we asked our Twitter followers to tweet us a picture of their BlackBerry home screen, and to tell us why they loved it! Everyone who shared had their home screen configured to fit their needs, and many highlighted some of the great capabilities of BlackBerry 10 and the secure Android-powered PRIV.

We’ve chosen a few of our favorites tweets to share here, and talk about the features they highlight (apologies for making you scroll).

1. Customize Your Phone With a Personalized Wallpaper

Many of our followers have added their own photos as their phone wallpaper. This is a great way to personalize your phone- whether you choose a photo of your favorite pet, your family on vacation, or you and your friends having a great time, seeing the picture every time you open your phone can put a smile on your face.

Check out these articles for instructions on how to change your wallpaper on PRIV or BlackBerry 10

2. Get Organized With Folders

Folders are a great way to organize the appearance of your home screen, especially if you have a lot of apps. You can use folders on PRIV (instructions here) and BlackBerry 10 (instructions here). You can customize these folders to fit your needs, and apps can always be added/ removed to ensure you have the most efficient home screen for you. For those using PRIV who like a clean home screen, this is a great way to minimize the clutter from numerous apps on the screen.

3. Icon Packs

This PRIV home screen displays one of the great icon packs, which can allow you to customize the appearance of your icons. Check out the Google Play store for many options, both free and paid. Just another way to personalize PRIV

For information on how to add icon packs, check out this help blog article – the first tip explains the process!

4. Display Multiple Times

If you’re in the business of doing business across time zones, or a frequent traveler, it can help to know what time it is where your colleagues are. This tweet displays how you can have multiple clocks and customize them to display the time in a different time zones.

To add this to your home screen, check out this support site post for instructions

Tip: While you can’t add a clock widget to your home screen on BlackBerry 10 devices, you can add time locations in the Clock app – and it will show you the current weather in those cities, too!

5. Keep It Simple

Sometimes, simple is best. Many of our followers said they like to keep their home screen looking clean and simple – no bells and whistles. The moral of the story? With so many customization options, you can create a home screen that fits you.

Thanks for sharing Team BlackBerry! We love hearing from you. Sound off in the comments if you have questions, comments, or suggestions for future posts.
