Our roving reporter Matt Stephenson gets the lowdown from Cylance's Senior VP of Marketing Shaun Walsh on exactly how Cylance works to prevent the bad guys from assaulting your data.
Says Shaun, “What we’re doing is true artificial intelligence. If you look at what everyone else is doing here (at RSA,) they will be fully buzzword-compliant. They will talk about machine learning. They will talk about AI. They will talk about all the other things that they think you want to hear.”
The core problem, explains Shaun, is that their product most likely doesn’t do any of these things.
“That’s what makes us different. AI is in the very DNA of our product. We have the highest percentage of data scientists of any engineering group in this space. When you talk about what the difference is between our AI and all the other stuff that’s out there, it is the fact that (our product) recognizes the danger in advance. We prevent it from happening, and we do it pre-execution.”
Shaun says that the question you have to ask yourself is whether you want to prevent something bad from happening, or do you just want to react to it?
