Inc. Magazine announced that Cylance ranked number 171 on the 37th annual Inc. 5000, the most prestigious ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. The list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the American economy’s most dynamic segment—independent small businesses.
“In the highly competitive security market, it is our honor to be recognized again with a position on the Inc. 5000,” said Stuart McClure, Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Cylance.
“We are grateful to the customers who have invested in our vision and the partners that stand shoulder-to-shoulder with us to deliver innovative solutions that resolve today’s most insidious security issues.”
Not only have the companies on the 2018 Inc. 5000 been competitive within their markets, but the list as a whole shows staggering growth compared to prior lists. The 2018 Inc. 5000 achieved an astounding three-year average growth of 538.2 percent, and a median rate of 171.8 percent.
The Inc. 5000’s aggregate revenue was $206.1 billion in 2017, accounting for 664,095 jobs over the past three years. Complete results of the Inc. 5000, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, region, and other criteria, can be found at www.inc.com/inc5000.
“If your company is on the Inc. 5000, it’s unparalleled recognition of your years of hard work and sacrifice,” says Inc. Editor-in-Chief James Ledbetter.
“The lines of business may come and go, or come and stay. What doesn’t change is the way entrepreneurs create and accelerate the forces that shape our lives.”
While the Inc. 5000 list reflects Cylance's growth through the end of 2017, the company has achieved a number of milestones in the past year:
- Closing of $120 million funding round led by funds managed by Blackstone Tactical Opportunities
- Delivery of Cylance Smart Antivirus, AI-powered antivirus software designed specifically for consumers
- New releases of prevention-first security solutions CylancePROTECT® and CylanceOPTICS™ that deliver capabilities designed to further decrease the noise and clutter of the security stack
- Formed Cylance Axiom Alliances Program, a global community of cybersecurity solution providers working together to deliver a prevention-first approach to security
The top 500 companies on the list will be featured in the September issue of Inc., available on newsstands August 15; the entire list will be available online at Inc.com.
