BlackBerry was recently honored with the 2021 CybersecAsia Readers’ Choice Award for “Best AI-Based Cybersecurity.” The prestigious award recognizes cybersecurity trailblazers driving notable advancement in the industry and is especially gratifying because the voters are CISOs, technology heads, and cybersecurity practitioners.
“I want to thank CybersecAsia and its readers for recognizing BlackBerry for its innovations in AI-based cybersecurity,” said BlackBerry Managing Director for APAC David Nicol. “Since the pandemic began, we’ve seen an unprecedented increase in the volume and sophistication of cyberattacks, and the reality is legacy AV products are simply too reactive and signature-dependent to stop them. This award demonstrates that proactive prevention is not only possible, but also the most practical, effective, and cost-effective approach to cyber defense for organizations of every size and sector. We will continue introducing innovative endpoint security solutions, like BlackBerry® Protect, BlackBerry® Optics, and BlackBerry® Persona, that leverage advanced AI to help organizations stay ahead of the bad guys.”
CybersecAsia Editor-in-Chief Victor Ng added, “The 2021 CybersecAsia Readers’ Choice Awards marks another inflection point for the region, as government bodies, solution providers and end-user organizations collaborate to mitigate the risks brought about by increasingly sophisticated cyber-threats, financially motivated cybercriminals, state-sponsored bad actors, and intentional or unintentional internal threats. It’s our privilege and honor to organize this prestigious annual Awards program, now in its second iteration, to showcase the innovations and technologies Asia Pacific’s cybersecurity leaders have developed to mitigate these threats.”
CybersecAsia is a leading enterprise cybersecurity information portal with readers from 60,000 organizations in 10 English-speaking countries across the region. BlackBerry was among 43 organizations nominated in 18 main categories. After a month of online voting, nominees with the highest reader vote count were selected as category winners.
Along with other award winners, BlackBerry Enterprise Account Manager Mary Lee will join Ng in a first-of-its-kind virtual fireside chat on Dec. 1, 2021, to discuss cyber threats and trends for 2022.
