What are three key takeaways from the 2022 Black Hat cybersecurity conference? BlackBerry Vice President for Threat Research & Intelligence, Ismael Valenzuela, shared his list during the most recent episode of BlackBerry LIVE.
Also during the broadcast, Valenzuela and his guests did a deep dive into the challenges and pitfalls faced by companies trying to buy — and keep — cyber insurance.
In an exclusive study released during Black Hat, BlackBerry and Corvus Insurance surveyed hundreds of IT and cybersecurity business decision-makers within both small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) and large enterprises. The findings reveal that a sizable number of organizations are either uninsured or underinsured. More than a third of the respondents report being turned down for cyber insurance because they lacked endpoint detection and response (EDR). A majority of organizations also say they want their government’s help when it comes to covering certain types of cyber losses.
Special guests for this episode include:
- Corvus Insurance CTO, Vincent Weafer
- BlackBerry Director of Global Public Relations, Matthew Chandler
